Content Description

his collection contains the papers of Ida-Marie Logan Jensen, who was the head reference librarian at the Merrill Library of Utah State University. The collection is divided into two series of material which are housed in nine archival boxes.

Series I of the collection is a bibliographic series compiled by Ida-Marie Jensen and includes bibliographies on subjects such as biochemical substances (alcohol, ascorbic acid, etc.), child psychology, education, health, nutrition, and several others. The materials are organized alphabetically.

Series II of the collection contains correspondence between Mrs. Jensen and various faculty members, notes from her time in the library, and assorted poems and other writings. A portion of the series contains inspirational quotes, teaching materials, and other items related to the Young Women's Mutual Improvement Association. Also included is the diary of Ida-Marie Jensen from when she was fourteen years old entitled, My Life , and two World War II era photographs of some Polish soldiers. These materials are organized into two main categories: those materials compiled into folders (labeled by Ida-Marie Jensen and likely her husband, Lyman Jensen) and those originally housed in binders. These papers have been removed from the original binders and folders (which were discarded) and placed in archival folders. The folder and binder titles were retained, though materials from a single binder may have been divided among several folders.
