Color and black & white photographs taken by
Peter F. Schmid. The subjects are historic sites and events from 1991 to 1995 of Cache
Valley (Utah and Idaho). Included in this collection are photographs taken of the
emptying of First Dam ca. 1992, road construction on U.S. Highway 89/91 at Dry Lake, and
the restoration of St. John's Episcopal Church in 1994. Also housed are proof sheets of
the Twin Lakes Canal Company tour, prints of the Lime Kiln north of Mantua, photographs
of the plaques and sidewalk markers at Utah State University, and aerial shots of Cache
Valley taken in 1993. Negatives are available for most of the photographs.

Biographical Note
Mr. Schmid is currently the visual resources archivist for the Providence Health System
in Seattle, Washington.
Content Description
This is a collection of 135 images and 183 35mm negatives taken by Peter F. Schmid. Mr.
Schmid was the University Photograph Archivist at Utah State University from 1990 to
1999. These prints chronicle the history of Cache Valley, UT from 1991 to 1995. Included
in this collection are photographs taken of the emptying of First Dam ca. 1992, and the
restoration of St. John's Episcopal Church in 1994. Also housed are proof sheets of the
Twin Lakes Canal Company tour, prints of the Lime Kiln north of Mantua, photographs of
the plaques and sidewalk markers at Utah State University, and aerial shots of Cache
Valley taken in 1993.
The collection is divided between the subjects of the various photographs. There are
both color and black and white photographs. Negatives are available for most of the
photographs and are housed in the last folder of the subject.
