Historical NoteThe Knights of Pythias was a secret order established in 1864 in Washington, D.C. The organization was social and fraternal and was quite active in 19th century Utah. In 1900 there were 17 lodges throughout the state. Content DescriptionLedger records the lodge meetings of Resolute, No. 16 of Mercur Utah during the years of 1897 through December of 1902. Significant is the fact that the town of Mercur, Utah burned down in June of 1902. Entries continue for six months after the fire. The Lodge met on a weekly basis. Entries usually indicate number, attending, financial status and standard lodge business. Use of the Collection
