This collection consists of materials dealing with the rationing program that occurred during World War II. The bulk of the collection is rationing coupons. In addition to the coupons there are papers that would have accompanied coupons in the rationing process.
The coupons represent several different products that were rationed during the war. Some examples of these coupons were for shoes, gas, sugar, mileage and typewriter rental. Also, contained in the collection is a 1946 government pamphlet entitled, Rationing in World War II, that discusses the program. Finally there are forms, permits and receipts concerning the use of rationing coupons. The collection gives a good indication of the process in how rationing coupons were used.
